BHS Wrestlers place in CIF Championships
Junior Jackie Quintana placed 4th at the CIF State girls wrestling championship tournament this past weekend in Visalia. Jackie is the second-highest girls' CIF State placer in Beaumont HS history, following Amanda Hendey's state championships in 2010 and 2011, and her 2nd place finish in 2009. Additionally, Jackie was awarded the CIF Victory With Honor sportsmanship award for the 126-lb division. She and teammate Ashley Munoz lead Beaumont to finish 23rd overall as a team at the tournament.
Junior Eric Reyes (pictured left) and senior Bruce Valdez (pictured right) each placed in the top nine at the CIF Masters' wrestling championships this past weekend to earn a trip to the CIF State championship tournament in Bakersfield this weekend. Eric placed 4th in the 126-lb. division, while Bruce placed 8th in the 145-lb division. This is only the second time in Beaumont HS history that the Cougars have advanced a pair of boys wrestlers to the state tournament in the same season. In 2008, Tony Pietropaula and Clayton Schuelke represented Beaumont at the state tournament. The tournament begins morning and continues through at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield

LCAP Parent Input
It is an exciting time in education, particularly in the Beaumont Unified School District. As you are aware, the state implemented a new method of funding public schools called the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). This formula is structured to do what the name implies – allow local influence and decision-making from the parents and communities for their schools. The procedure to start this process is in developing the district Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to ensure that the funding is targeted at the needs of students in the Beaumont USD.
As an involved partner with our district, I invite you to share your “input” and perspective based on the following Eight Priorities established by the California Department of Education for the LCAP, and also provide suggestions and insight you feel will assist us to provide an optimum learning environment for students in the Beaumont Unified School District.
